She is a support. She is patient, wise, and calm. She does not level the paths, but puts her palms under your every step. Mama Earth is a perfume that recreates the image of the Earth. Not only through the smell, but also through the character. The scent is voluminous and diffuse, almost limitless in its sensations. But it is not a best friend that enters the house with a foot. It reveals itself smoothly and evenly, gaining strength and depth with each passing minute. This is how a loving mother greets you. She doesn’t ask anything, doesn’t blame you for not coming for a long time. She just opens her arms and listens in silence until your hectic thoughts have cleared. Until the herbs heal your wounds. Until the wind dies down and your heart is enveloped in peace.
Notes: August herbs, heady davana, gray wormwood, vanilla bean, hay, benzoin, buckwheat honey, Toluana balsam, guaiac wood, fallen leaves.
Mama Earth
From the author. You won’t hear patchouli or geosmin (the smell of soil) here. No smoke, no pharmacy fees, or camphor flavor. Yet it has everything: dry road dust, lumps of earth, the tickle of fresh hay, and the rustle of faded leaves in late summer. The composition is entirely built around steppe grasses with an emphasis on davana, a type of wormwood. It turns the dry steppe into a glass of aged cognac evaporated to an almost honeyed thickness. The fragrance paints a picture of a hot field that anticipates the coolness that autumn brings. The scent is about grounding. It is introverted and non-gendered. A reminder of who we are – sons and daughters of Mother Earth.
